What are couple of things i should know when I’m designing a flyer for a band’s show?
I’m using Adobe Photoshop CS2 to design this flyer.
What are couple of tricks/tips i could use while making it.
Like fonts, the location, the logos, the backgrounds, the colors.
It would help if i could get a semi-professional answer for this.
1.) Make it eye catching. Choose fonts and images that look cool but also say something about your band.
2.) Make sure your band’s name is readable and easy to spot on the flyer.
3.) Make sure the date, time, and location of your gig is readable and easy to spot on the flyer.
4.) Show the flyer to a friend once you have it made up but before you print 1000 copies. If your friend cannot see the details for points 1 through 3 after looking at it for 3 seconds, then you need to redesign it.
5.) Get to know what the posting rules and good posting places are for your location. A band I played with got burned by this: we put up flyers a week before our gig around several hotspots in town, but all the flyers got torn down or posted over a day after we put them up so few people got to see them.
